Electoral Reform in the UK WILL Affect Your Freedoms!

Electoral Reform comes up after every election, the minority left-wing parties pushing for electoral reform, we even have Nigel Farage and Paul Nuttall on the bandwagon….

Electoral Reform – but Nigel and Paul you really have not thought this through because electoral reform will not get you any closer to power, in fact it will guarantee you NEVER see power!

Basically the only electoral reform we need is to equalize the seat sizes and ditch the fixed parliament and we will have the fairest practical electoral system in the world.

This current push from the left for electoral reform, with Corbyn and Tim Farron meeting, the Greens and other far left parties getting involved is nothing to do with democracy, it is a left-wing conspiracy against the Conservative Party to turn this country into a permanent left-wing haven and ensure the Conservative Party can never gain power again, and that Nigel would include UKIP!

UKIP must not become the home of failed and discredited politicians.

Yes you would gain seats but you would never see power and this country would have a permanent coalition government of a far left persuasion, we would be deeply embedded into the EU and UKIP’s fight would be unwinnable.

the only electoral reform we need is to equalize the seat sizes and ditch the fixed parliament and we will have the fairest practical electoral system in the world.

For the electorate remember, with any form of electoral reform which guarantees a coalition, you won’t know what you are voting for because all policies are agreed on after the election to create the coalition pact and everything is the fault of someone else.

Just look at the last coalition, all the main planks of the Conservative manifesto such as Human Rights, EU, Taxation, Equalization of Constituency Boundaries and Health all had to be either abandoned or watered down at the behest of a Lib-Dem Party with precious little electoral mandate and within a coalition it is often the case that the power lies with a party with minority support.

Proportion Representation, which is what the parties are talking about, is a very undemocratic method to elect a government and a very efficient way of politicians and smaller parties holding on to the levers of power, for instance if Nick Clegg had won the AV/PR referendum and got his House of Lords Reform through with PR he would have virtually guaranteed Lib Dem involvement in every government and the musical chairs of coalition government!

Coalition government is not the way forward but a united, matured UKIP party just might be, maybe even morphed into the centre-right of the Conservative Party if Cameron continues on his path to destroy the Tories, now there is a thought!

The most important thing for UKIP moving forward is to mature as a party, stop squabbling and be very careful who you let in to senior positions, UKIP must not become the home of failed and discredited politicians.
